Crime brief: Suspects nabbed with stolen property

The Boksburg North SAPS made the following arrests in the past week.

• A suspect was arrested and charged with business robbery and the possession of stolen property, after he was found in possession of a stolen truck.

Two unknown men entered the guardroom at a business in Kent Road, Anderbolt, on July 31, at around 3.30am.

“They held up the guards and took their cellphones and panic buttons,” said Boksburg North SAPS communication officer Capt Juanita Coetzer.

They left the scene with the company’s truck.

Later that morning one suspect was arrested with the stolen truck in his possession, in Kempton Park.

• A suspect was arrested and detained at the Boksburg North SAPS on a charge of possession of stolen property, on July 28, at around 6pm.

Boksburg North Crime Prevention members and detectives from Elsburg SAPS followed up on information about a theft in Elsburg.

“During the investigation, they found a man in possession of stolen bicycles, which were still in boxes, and a laptop,” said Coetzer.

The suspect could not tell police where he had bought the items and was, therefore, arrested.
