Painter with critical injuries airlifted after scaffolding collapses in Boksburg

On Monday afternoon, July 31, Netcare 911 responded to reports that a man had been injured when working on scaffolding in Boksburg.

According to Nick Dollman, media liaison inland Netcare Limited, reports from the scene indicate that the man, who was in his twenties, was a painter working on scaffolding at recently completed construction site when the scaffolding fell/collapsed.

“The incident and preceding events still need to investigated,” said Dollman.

“Netcare 911 Advanced Life Support paramedics attended to the man who allegedly fell approximately three to five meters.

“He had sustained a severe head injury and was in a critical condition and placed on a ventilator at the scene.

“The Netcare 911 helicopter ambulance was called to the scene and the victim was airlifted to an awaiting specialised Trauma Unit for the urgent care that he required.

“No one else was injured in the incident.”
