Blanket drive enjoys bikers’ support
On July 22, in support of Mandela Day, Harley Owners' Group (HOG) Gold Rand members handed over a R5 000 cheque to Consolidated Auto Boksburg in support of its annual blanket drive, at the Harley-Davidson Gold Rand premises, in North Rand Road.

The bikers then headed off to meet up with other groups from across Gauteng on the N4 to ride to Witbank where they made donations of blankets to the Malehlogonolo Simulation Centre.
Awie Krog, the director of the HOG Gold Rand Chapter #7897, said a passion for riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles and giving back to the community are at the core of HOG Gold Rand.
Adrian de Beer, a sales consultant from Consolidated Auto, accepted the cheque.
He said this is the second year the dealership has done a blanket drive and many organisations in Boksburg have benefited from blankets and beanies bought with the money collected.
The bikers’ charity drive to Witbank was initiated by Richard Moagi, a sales consultant at Harley-Davidson Gold Rand.
