Metro is playing with people’s lives

Disgusted from Boksburg writes,

On Tuesday, May 2, I was on my way to work when I had to swerve for an overtaking taxi in Paul Smit Street and hit a pothole.

My rim was so badly damaged that the tyre immediately went flat.

I had to organise another rim, and at the same time get that damaged one sort of fixed, as I am not wealthy.

On May 9, I was coming from Benoni, just after 8pm, and hit another pothole in the middle of the roadway just before Atlas Road.

I pulled off at the very next fuelling station and, to my horror, found two other women who had hit the same pothole.

This is unacceptable. The government says we are being unrealistic in our expectations regarding service delivery.

This is definitely not the case. I think we have all been too accommodating and definitely too patient.

This is a serious issue. What happens if a biker hits that pothole?

This is not on, Ekurhuleni metro. You are playing with people’s lives.

So fix the potholes urgently.
