According to the Boksburg SAPS spokesperson, Sgt Cebisa Maseko, the two vehicles, a Mercedes-Benz and a bakkie, collided at about 2am.
“The crash caused both cars to veer off the road, before crashing into the nearby buildings,” said Maseko.
“The drivers were rushed to different hospitals in a critical condition.”
The passenger of the Mercedes-Benz died on the scene.
