Ghetto CrossFit donates pet food to needy SPCA’s
A gym company called Ghetto CrossFit (Boksburg) collected 908kg of pet food in aid of the Springs and Brakpan SPCA.
Blankets and beds were also collected.
The initiative started at the Ghetto CrossFit (Carnival Mall branch) where members collected pet food to support the two SPCAs after learning about the financial challenges facing the organisations.
Bo Coutts said: “We as the Boksburg branch also saw it fit to assist the two SPCAs as well. We let our gym members know about the worthy cause we are busy with and they also assisted us in donating.
“Our core values as a gym apart from training is assisting communities and helping those in need.”
Coutts said their main aim of participating in the initiative is to be a voice for the pets and to encourage people to support their nearby SPCA as they are doing a great job.
Ryan Skeens from Lionel’s Choice donated a large percentage of the dog food to be donated to the Springs and Brakpan SPCA.
“Initiatives like these are very important as they also benefit the community. We will continue to give support to the fur babies of the East Rand,” Skeens said.
Coutts said they are challenging other local businesses to donate food for their local animal welfare.
“We are planning on having more projects to help animal welfares because if we don’t do anything where will these animals go? We would like to thank Rogers Devachander Attorney’s for their donations and everyone else who donated,” said Coutts.
Anybody who would like to donate something, items can be dropped off at the Ghetto CrossFit (Boksburg) gym.
