Police are investigating an attempted murder case.

Based on police records, the troubled tiny settlement sees at least one or more incidents of gun violence per week, and it has the highest numbers of gun homicide, compared to the other areas falling under the Boksburg SAPS policing precinct.

The records reveal that people who live in the area are many times more likely to be injured or murdered with a gun than people in other areas within the precinct.

Unemployment, illegal mining, illegal immigrants, substance abuse, poverty, poor policing and a host of other social issues are said to be the main contributing factors to crime in the area. -@FanieFLK
