False case leads to four arrests

Two suspects have been arrested for falsely reporting a crime on January 24.

According to the Boksburg North SAPS communication officer, Capt Juanita Coetzer, a truck driver and his two crew opened a case of theft of cellphones.

They alleged that four delivery boxes of phones were taken from their truck.

“Det-WO Robert Ngomane interviewed them, which led to the driver admitting that they reported a false case,” said Coetzer.

“The driver said that his crew arranged the theft.”

The two suspects were arrested.

With further investigation, four boxes of cellphones were recovered.

Another two suspects were arrested and the vehicle they used to commit the crime, has been confiscated.

Investigations continue.
