Home owner shoots dead suspect with shotgun

The owner of a property in Limbahout Road, Bardene, saved his daughter’s life by shooting dead an armed intruder in his double-story home yesterday, January 17

Four armed suspects entered the house around 12.30pm.

According to the Boksburg North SAPS communication officer, Capt Juanita Coetzer, they grabbed the daughter who was downstairs and demanded money.

“Her father, who was upstairs at that moment, heard his daughter screaming and immediately went to the safe and took out his shotgun,” said Coetzer.

As he was about to come down the stairs, the suspect who held his daughter hostage pointed a firearm at him.

“The next moment, the father fatally shot the suspect,” Coetzer explained.
