Wallace Malcolm Wayne collected five distinctions in life orientation, life sciences, mathematics, physical sciences and religion studies. He intends to study Pharmacy at Wits University.
The school had 225 matriculants sitting for the 2016 examinations and 18 failed, while four were marked as ‘incomplete’.
The school dropped from an impressive 96 per cent in 2015 to 93 in the 2016 results.
They achieved 51 per cent Bachelor passes, 40 per cent Diploma passes, and nine per cent higher certificate passes.
Deputy principal Enoch Thango said although they are disappointed by the drop in pass rate, “we take this opportunity to congratulate all the learners who represented us well. We will analyse the results carefully and come up with an improvement plan for this year.”
Mabotja Tumisho Matlou nailed four distinctions in accounting, mathematics, physical sciences and religion studies. She want to pursue Medicine at University of Pretoria, or Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University.
Mace Nelisile Noluthando gained four distinctions in life orientation, geography, life sciences and religion studies. Mace wants to study BSc Degree in Biological Sciences at Wits University, then later move to Medicine or Biochemistry.
Mkhonza Khanyisile Simphiwe Nosipho notched five distinctions in accounting, business studies, economics, mathematics and religion studies. She wants to study for a Bachelor of Accounting Degree at University of Johannesburg.
Sunward Park High School’s top achiever for 2016 is Lukhalo Sinebhongo Sinomtha, who bagged six distinctions in Afrikaans, life orientation, life sciences, mathematics, physical sciences and religion studies. Sinomtha intends pursuing Medicine at Wits University.
Mashele Thato Tintswalo racked up four distinction in accounting, life orientation, mathematics and religion studies. He intends pursuing a BCom Accounting Science at Wits University or University of Pretoria.
