Two men fatally shot in Boksburg

Two people were brutally murdered in separate incidents over the long weekend, in Angelo Informal Settlement.

According to the Boksburg police, a man identified as Thabang Ngobeni was having drinks in a tavern in the informal settlement, when a gunman opened fire on him, on December 17.

He died on the scene and police are now investigating a murder case.

Another man, identified as Mr Majola, died after he was shot in the stomach, apparently by robbers.

According to police report, Majola was with another man in a shack at about 2am on December 16, when two men, believed to be BaSotho nationals, entered the premises and demanded money.

The robbers then opened fire on Majola.

The bullet hit him in the stomach and he also died on the scene.

Police are appealing for the public to help them remove these dangerous violent criminals, who put the lives of the thousands of people residing in the area, at risk.

Concerned community leaders have been complaining since the beginning of the year, that scores of local and foreign violent thugs and rapists are walking Angelo Informal Settlement’s streets and terrorising the community – because the authorities have failed to deal with the said criminals accordingly.

Despite the police repeatedly carrying out crime operations, to try and end the gruesome killings of people in the area, thugs continue to wreak havoc on the informal settlement.
