Eleven new records set at last gala for 2016
St Dominic’s held the fourth Annual Ladder Eight Gala on Friday, November 4.
In this gala, the top eight swimmers in each stroke race against their peers. This year was, once again, a great success.
Out of 40 events during the evening, the school had a total of 11 new records set across the board for all age groups.
The following were individual age group winners:
* U/9 Ladder Eight Champion: Alexia Jansen
* U/10 Ladder Eight Champion: Rebecca Leach
* U/11 Ladder Eight Champion: Shannon Massolini
* U/12 Ladder Eight Champion: Skyla de Freitas
* U/13 Ladder Eight Champion: Kaylyn Leach
* U/14 Ladder Eight Champion: Carissa van Rooyen
* U/15 Ladder Eight Champion: Ashleigh Munks
* U/16 Ladder Eight Champion: Tatum Peyerl
* Open Ladder Eight Champion: Michlene Pedro
*Junior Iron Lady Champion: Kaylyn Leach
*Senior Iron Lady Champion: Tatum Peyerl
The following were new record holders:
* Alexia Jansen U/9 (one record): 25m Freestyle
* Rebecca Leach U/10 (three records): 50m Backstroke, Breaststroke and Freestyle
* Kaylyn Leach U/13 (one record): 50m Breaststroke
* Carissa van Rooyen U/14 (two records): 50m Backstroke and Freestyle
* Tatum Peyerl U/16 (five records): 100m Individual Medley, 50m Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Freestyle
