Domestic worker tied up during armed robbery

Two armed thugs tied up a domestic worker with shoe laces and ransacked her employers’ house in Witpeer Street, Freeway Park.

The domestic worker reportedly said she noticed a silver Toyota Corolla in the driveway at about 10.30am on Monday, November 14.

The occupants of the car then jumped over the fence to enter the yard.

They accosted the domestic worker, before they took her to one of the bedrooms where they tied her up.

The robbers then helped themselves to the house owner’s valuable electrical appliances, including a TV set, microwave and a PlayStation.

They then fled the scene with stolen goods worth about R30 000.

* In another robbery, crooks forced their way into a property on Albrecht Road, Sunward Park, and robbed an elderly citizen of her cellphone and cash, on November 11.

Police responded to the crime and find the elderly woman lying on the floor covered with a blanket.

It’s unclear as to how the attackers gained entry.

The victim was rushed to hospital for treatment. -@FanieFLK
