Prayer for peaceful exams held
A massive prayer service for the upcoming matric and tertiary examinations was held on Friday, October 21 underway at the Germiston City Hall.

The three-hour-long prayer for peaceful exams started at noon.
This service was organised by the Gauteng Department of Social Development, in partnership with the Young Religious Leaders.
Among the attendees were Gauteng Social Development MEC Nandi Mayathula-Khoza, the Executive Mayor of Ekurhuleni Mzwandile Masina, faith-based organisations, leadership from SASCO, leadership from the ANCYL, various youth formations, members of the Young Religious Leaders and learners and students from all regions in the province.
“As a forum, we believe prayer is a crucial element in achieving ones full potential in all respects.
“The Young Religious Leaders are expected to also issue a media statement on the ‘Fees Must Fall’ saga, as we believe the forum’s view on the Fees Must Fall protest is crucial – because most of our constituency is based in the institutions of higher learning.
“We also took time to pray for peace in institutions of higher learning, and lasting solutions to be found with regard to the Fees Must Fall campaign,” said Young Religious Leaders’ Abel Mahachi in a statement.
The Young Religious Leaders is a forum of inter-faith young leaders from various religious formations in religious institutions and institutions of higher learning.
The youth structure is based in Gauteng, under faith-based organisations, and is convened by Nandi Mayathula Khoza.
The forum has a mandate to bridge the gap between the government and the religious sector, promote moral regeneration and social cohesion.
Since its formation in 2014, it has been involved in programmes that have to do with championing the interests of young people in the religious sector and issues that have to do with policies and policy making. -@FanieFLK
