Damelin students to feature on Soweto TV

Damelin College in collaboration with Stumbo Pops is the proud sponsor of the all new Babize Bonke community shout-out show that will be screened on Soweto TV, channel 251, this October.

Babize Bonke, which means “to call them all” will see Damelin students across the country sending shout-outs to their family and friends on television.

The show is set to screen from October 11 to December 3.

The show will air on Mondays to Fridays at 4pm to 5pm and repeats will be aired from 11pm to 12am.

According to Mela Arnold, from Africa Entertainment, the show will target the youth.

Arnold said the show brings back shout-out television and community involvement.

“With the best of current music videos being showcased by guest hosts, we guarantee maximum prime time viewership. Not only do they have an opportunity to watch their favourite videos but they also get the opportunity to host the show,” she said.

As part of the sponsorship, Damelin has organised a regional road show that will bring guest celebrity, DJ Large to its students across various Damelin campuses in the Gauteng region.

From some of South Africa’s best local music videos to guest host commentary, Babize Bonke will give viewers around South Africa upbeat entertainment.

The show will set the tone for year-end celebrations and festivities.

Imraan Asmail, chief marketing and sales executive of the Damelin brand, said they decided to partner with Soweto TV as it speaks to their student base.

“The show is contemporary, vibey and resonates with our student culture.” he said.

Damelin students are encouraged to record their shout-outs videos of 30 seconds or less.

Students are urged to submit the videos to their campuses as a competition will be held for the best shout-out.
