Lehari was born in Katlehong (Phake Section) and moved with his family to Vosloorus, where he currently lives, in 1988.
He is married and has a five-year-old son.
In 2010 Lehari joined the ANC, as he believes it is the only organisation that has the policies that can move our country in the correct direction in redressing the injustices of the past.
Lehari served as chairperson of the Vosloorus Sector Two CPF from 2013 to 2015 and also served as an executive member in 2016.
Lehari will be focusing on many aspects in the area he serves.
“I am in this office, deployed by the ANC to deliver on the promises made by the congress in its manifesto, and my duty will be to convert what was in the manifesto into practical deliverables for the people of Ward 45,” he said.
Community safety is one of the many priorities within the ANC policies and, as the councillor deployed in Ward 45 by the party, Lehari will be working with all structures in the ward to address issues of crime.
He said he will have a close relationship with departments in the municipality and a continuous drive to educate the community of Ward 45 on how the municipality works and how to log their service requests with the Ekurhuleni call centre.
He will also intervene where a service request logged has not been attended to within the expected response time by the municipality.
Lehari added that the residents of Somalia Park Informal Settlement have been promised houses by MMC for Human Settlement Aubrey Nxumalo and the Gauteng Human Settlement Department, in the report Nxumalo presented in Somalia Park, on July 30.
“My responsibility will be to ensure that the new MMC of Human Settlement in Ekurhuleni, together with the Gauteng Department of Human Settlement, delivers on that promise,” said Lehari.
“I am truly humbled by the trust and love you have for the ANC and also for accepting me as the candidate nominated by the ANC to be the councillor for Ekurhuleni Ward 45 and may God grant me the strength and wisdom to serve you well at all times,” said Lehari.
