Miss Commonwealth SA: the search is on

Be part of those who are making a difference in our communities.

You can do so by joining former Miss Commonwealth South Africa (2014/15) Ngawethu Ka-Siphiwo in her bid to empower young women between the ages of 20 and 32 years, with a platform to be charity and cultural ambassadors.

Entries are now open for Miss Commonwealth South Africa 2016/17 and close on August 20.

The pageant will be taking place in Gauteng, later this year.

The Miss Commonwealth SA Team will host once-off workshops for potential entrants in selected provinces within South Africa.

Delivered to you by the newly appointed Miss Commonwealth SA national director, Ka-Siphiwo, the building workshop is aimed at putting young future leaders – predominantly young women – on platforms to changing their surroundings through their lives.

The idea is to bridge the gap, further motivating and giving advice on what to expect.

The workshop is also set to unpack the criteria used in selecting Miss Commonwealth SA, from grooming tips, the benefits that come with entering for the national pageant and addressing questions that potential entrants have always wanted to ask prior interviews.

”We also want to instil confidence in girls who come from disadvantaged communities, rural areas and townships,” elaborated Ka-Siphiwo.

”They must also know that anything is possible and that they can do it for themselves.

“That is why we are taking these workshops to young ladies from different walks of life.”

Having won multiple pageants in her rise to Miss Commonwealth SA, the Boksburg-based fashion designer, as well as founder of Zingce (Take Pride) Foundation, Ka-Siphiwo has dedicated her platforms to changing teenage girls and young women’s lives through community upliftment projects .

She also invests her time educating and mentoring young women from previously disadvantaged backgrounds with regards to the values of social cohesion, racial harmony, assisting in poverty eradication and how to invest in their talent, therefore maximizing their potential.

Be among the future leaders in the quest to uplift and give back to society, by creating opportunities for young women, as the key focus within this pageant is education, addressing health issues that affect young women and self-branding.

Ka-Siphiwo invites Africans to also play a vital role in young women today and change the face of our countries future.
