Allegations of oil being poured on road to cause accidents

Allegations have surfaced surrounding the circumstances of the perpetual car accidents near the traffic light at the intersection of Campbell Road and Railway Street.

There have been a number of accidents in the area in question of late, and a source working for the emergency services told the Advertiser that there is the possibility that an unscrupulous person is behind the cause of these accidents.

The source believes that someone pours oil onto this curved section of the road to deliberately cause accidents.

“In most instances, drivers who were involved in accidents in that area when there was a slight drizzle told officials that they had lost control of their cars after the car started skidding sideways on a slippery road and ended up slamming into other cars or trees and the traffic lights,” said the official, who asked to remain anonymous.

The concerned official claims that the area is sometimes slippery and covered with some liquid resembling oil, and warns motorists to be extra careful when driving along the stretch of road when it’s raining is drizzling.

The Advertiser visited the scene of the crash and noticed debris scattered on the sides of the road – but could not find any traces of the said oil on the ground.

The Boksburg police urge members of the public to immediately call the police when they notice someone pouring oil on the road, as this behaviour could lead to loss of lives and property.

The motive for oiling the road remains unclear, but it is believed that the perpetrator’s or perpetrators’ objective is to take advantage of the accident victims. -@FanieFLK
