Polo stolen in Boksburg recovered in Tembisa

A silver VW Polo that was stolen on Monday, May 23, in the Jet Park industrial area, has been recovered in Tembisa.

EMPD spokesperson Lieut-Col Wilfred Kgasago said the stolen car was recovered on Tuesday (May 24) morning, in Ebony Park, by EMPD Loss Control Unit members.

“As the vehicle’s disappearance was realised only in the morning of Tuesday (May 24), the lookout was issued at around 7.10am, by the Matrix tracking company, and the vehicle was traced to Ebony Park, where it had been abandoned,” said Kgasago.

“It was established that the vehicle had been tampered with, probably because the thieves were trying to remove the tracker unit.”

The recovered VW Polo was taken to the SAPS Van Ryn pound, in Benoni.
