Be alert: Thieves on the loose in Boksburg

Boksburg police are hunting a number of thieves who stole over R220 000 worth of goods from different businesses and residential properties, over the past weekend.

* Armed robbery

A Comet based foreign-owned shop was on May 20 robbed of goods and money.

According to a police report, three armed men stormed the spaza shop and robbed the shop assistant and the owner of R5 000, airtime vouchers worth R2 000 and three cellphones.

* Business burglary

Thugs forced their way into a shop next to the Checkers Hyper on Rondebult Road, and stole cigarettes and Rizla worth about R100 000, on May 20.

Thieves also burgled a business on Kingfisher Road, Freeway Park on May 21.

They stole goods worth about R6 000.

* Residential burglary

Criminals ransacked a house in Sunward Park while the owner was asleep on the property, on May 21.

They stole a TV set, laptop and other valuable goods worth about R11 500.

* In Freeway Park, thieves entered a house through one of the windows and stole money and goods, on May 21.

Meanwhile in Boksburg South thugs forced their way into a house on May 22 and stole goods worth about R3 000 while the occupants were asleep in the building.

On May 22, crooks forced their way into a house in Parkrand, and stole goods worth about R100 000.-@FanieFLK
