“When leaving a shopping centre or a mall, be vigilant and look in your vehicle mirrors and around you regularly,” said communications officer, Lieut Juanita Coetzer.
“Criminals follow people from the shops or the bank and when they stop at their residence, they hijack them or rob them of their personal possessions.”
Coetzer advises that if you see someone following you, to not go straight to your residence.
“Drive around the block or to your nearest police station. You can also stop at your nearest petrol station where there are people around you.
“These criminals will not think twice to harm you or your family,” said Coetzer.
