Appeal renewed for information on woman’s body found in lake

Boksburg police are renewing their appeal for information to help identify and find the killers of the woman whose naked body was found in the Boksburg Lake.

The body is described as that of a white woman, believed to be in her 50s, and has a tattoo of leaves on the right shoulder.

Her body was found floating in the lake,on Sunday night, January 24, but investigators have been unable to confirm her identity since then, and they have no new developments.

It is believed that she was strangled and struck with a hard object, before her attackers dumped her in the lake.

“I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the attack or saw her before her body was found in the lake,” said the investigating officer, Det W/O Rudi Venter.

Venter added that, as per procedure, they have checked all the dockets registered for missing persons across the city to see if anyone has reported a woman matching the description of the body as missing, but there have been no matches.

Police have received information from a member of the public, but it didn’t yield fruitful results.
