Joint operation in Jubilee Road leads to drug bust
A joint operation involving the Boksburg SAPS, EMPD, CPFs and DTF Security, resulted in the arrest of a foreign national for possession of drugs, on April 10.
The Nigerian was busted during a traffic stop on Jubilee Road, near the Boksburg City Stadium, when police officers found drugs (cat), in his possession.
The man was driving his gray Polo Vivo travelling west on Jubilee Road, when he was pulled over, during the operation, which was witnessed by the Advertiser.

The suspect appeared to be too nervous when one of the police officers, W/O Lucky Raboshaba asked to search him and his car.
Upon searching the suspect, Raboshaba found two plastic bags containing small packets of drugs.
The man was then arrested and charged with possession of drugs.
“I was quite confident that we would make an arrest here,” said the jubilant Raboshaba.
The massive joint operation also resulted in 74 people and 68 vehicles being stopped and searched.
Eight of the 68 motorists were dealt with for a variety of traffic offences.

The Boksburg SAPS teamed up with the EMPD, local security companies and CPFs to weed out criminal elements in Boksburg.
They have come up with a joint operation involving the various security agencies against crime including the growing menace of drug peddling.
The Tuesday morning operation was the first of its kind since the different security agencies recently teamed up. It is designed to gather intelligence about criminals, disrupt their illegal activities and bring anyone found breaking the law to justice to ensure that residents of Boksburg are safe.

According to Boksburg SAPS’ Sandra Cloete, the operation serves as an excellent opportunity for the police to work with other security forces to protect residents, and the arrest made is a clear indication of its success.
The police are confident that crime could be easily defeated when communities work hand in hand in providing police with information on criminal activities in their areas.
For that reason, they are asking members of the public to help the police by reporting any suspicious people or activity to their nearest police station.
