Online school registration system deemed to be annoying

The school online registration has been marred by technical glitches since its inception earlier this month.

As a result the system has been on and off line several times.

The website was expected to go live a 8am yesterday (April 19) but it ended going live at 10am.

The Gauteng Education Department has apologised for the technical glitch.

Boksburg’s Lucy Strydom said on ou Facebook page that the system is annoying.

“But I actually did manage to register my child yesterday and it went through. They gave me the reference numbers and everything.

“The school where I registered my child told me I’m the first parent that came right,” she said.

Strydom added that the process is a huge frustration for parents who can’t go online to register.

“Everyday there’s a different excuse. I’m still trying to go online to check if the registration has gone through successfully,” said Strydom.
