Anger over removal of DA’s election registration posters

Numerous DA election registration posters have been unlawfully removed from lamp posts on major roads around Boksburg, allegedly by other opposition parties.

This is according to local DA ward councillor Johan Hendricks.

Apparently, 80 posters were removed and some were dropped on the streets.

Some of the posters were removed in Rondebult Road, Commissioner Street and Dudley Smith Road.

According to Hendricks these posters are expensive and he doesn’t understand why people commit such acts.

“The acts performed by these people is a transgression of the law and it is wrong,” Hendricks said.

“The public is urged to notify the SAPS if they do come upon someone who is illegally removing the registration posters.”

Boksburg SAPS spokesperson Lieut-Col Kwenzakwakhe Ngobese confirmed a case of malicious damage to property was opened but then closed again as there were no suspects.
