Reiger Park Primary assists drought-stricken communities

As part of the water drive called Operation Hydrate, Reiger Park Primary schoolchildren have been collecting water to help drought-stricken communities.

The school has managed to collect thousands of litres of drinking water, which will be distributed to areas worst affected by the drought

The initiative has seen children of the school continually dropping off sealed two-litre bottles of drinking water at the school.

The project coordinator Ronel Barnard said she and her daughter as well as the children of the school are happy to be part of this good deed.

Operation Hydrate was started in early January and has distributed millions of litres of drinking water across the country to areas worst affected by the drought.

The main focus areas of Operation Hydrate are currently the Free State, North West and the Eastern Cape. -@FanieFLK
