Excitement, tears greet first day of school

Hundreds of Children flocked to local primary schools across Boksburg to begin their education, as the school year kicked off on Wednesday morning, January 13.

Leighwon Brummer (left) and Sidziya Bulumko were among the children who started Grade One at Lakeside Primary School, on Wednesday, January 13. On the first day children were engaged in a variety of activities, including colouring, drawing and reading. Leighwon said he has hopes of becoming a soldier.

When the Advertiser entered one of the classrooms at Lakeside Primary School, these pupils jumped onto the tables to pose for a group photo on their first day of school, on Wednesday, January 13.
