The reason for power outages in parts of Boksburg

Over the last week, some residents have been experiencing power outages around Boksburg, with Plantation being the most hit.

A resident of Plantation complained to the Advertiser that it was impossible to plan anything.

“I phoned the municipality and all they say is that they are fixing it.

“It’s on and off and I doubt the people fixing it are capable because it always goes off every time they fix it,” he said.

Ekurhuleni Metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe said the problem emanates from the Tambo Memorial Hospital.

“The hospital had an internal reticulation fault which keeps tripping the municipality’s network of supply in Plantation.

“We have discussed the problem with the hospital management and they are working on correcting it,” said Gadebe.

Gadebe said it seems that the hospital has a double cable fault on their reticulation, internal low voltage network.
