President Zuma to honour Tambo at wreath laying ceremony

President Jacob Zuma is expected to join Ekurhuleni Executive Mayor Cllr Mondli Gungubele, the Tambo family and other dignitaries in to paying homage to fallen political giants, Oliver and Adelaide Tambo on Tuesday October 27 at the Tamboville Cemetery.

The laying of wreaths at the couple’s gravesite is the acme of the month long O R Tambo month celebrations taking place in the City of Ekurhuleni and a highlight on the country’s political calendar.

Meanwhile, the City is set to host an Opera theatre production relaying Tambo’s life story take place on Thursday, October 29, at the Springs Theatre.

To conclude the Tambo month activities, well known choristers from across the country will be singing their hearts out during the Ekurhuleni Melting Pot Choral Festival at the Carnival City’s Big Top Arena on October 31 and November 1.
