Rotary Foundation assists with grants for projects
Rotarians in South Africa, Botswana, Swaziland and Mozambique presented a seminar on the Rotary Foundation, for the first time in Boksburg.
The seminar took place at the Ora Bella Restaurant and Convention Centre, on October 17.
The intensive full day event covered all aspects of the foundation, such as the financial arm of Rotary International, grant applications and fund-raising.
Past Rotary Foundation trustee Dr Stephanie Urchick, from the United States of America (home club Canonburg-Houston), was among the speakers.
The programme was led by Past District Governor Francis Callard (Foundation chairman, home club Northcliff).
The seminar was also attended by a number of top district officials, namely current District Governor David Grant (home club Kyalami), District Governor nominee Jankees Slicher (homeclub Johannesburg New Dawn), Past Rotary International Director Tony Serrano (home club Bedfordview), Past District Governor Greg Stathacopoulos (home club Benoni), Immediate Past District Governor Annie Steijn (home club Benoni) and Past District Governor Shirley Downie (home club Rotary e-club).
The Rotary Clubs of Boksburg and Boksburg Lake’s ordinary Rotarians represented their clubs, to ensure they qualify for grants for their projects.
