Supt Vusi Mabanga, spokesperson for the EMPD, says they arrested three motorists for unwarrantedly breaking the speed limit, and another for reckless and negligent driving.
“Some 18 fines were issued to motorists for driving unroadworthy vehicles,” Mabanga adds.
He says that 170 fines were issued for parking and stopping offences, while a further eight drivers were fined for using their cellphones without a hands-free kit.
“We issued 12 fines to special motorists for driving without their Professional Driver Permits,” he adds.
He says that 40 fines were issued for moving violations.
There were 19 accidents in Boksburg, two of which were fatal; two which resulted in slight injuries, while only damages resulted in the others.
