Ekurhuleni’s biggest party is here in the city!
Music lovers can expect the biggest and most entertaining Ekurhuleni Spring Fiesta to date.
Party-goers don’t have to wait any longer with dance culture’s most anticipated annual holiday, brought to you by Soul Candi Live, SABC 1
and Metro FM, set to take place on Saturday at Wild Waters in Boksburg.
As per Spring Fiesta tradition, a star-studded line-up of local and international acts will showcase the very best of house, soul, hip-hop and dance music.
According to Spring Fiesta director Ricardo da Costa, other additions to the event include a tighter security system and signal boosters for improved digital networking.
Speaking as part of the night’s second panel and one of new additions to this year’s Fiesta, DJ Mobi Dixon said he was looking forward to the event.
“I’ve got those two big tracks that people will be expecting me to play but I also have new material I’ve been working on which I look forward to sharing.”
One of the event’s mainstay entertainers, DJ Shimza echoed Mobi Dixon’s views.
“It’s been such an honour being part of the line-up at the Spring Fiesta and working with Ricardo. I’ve been working on new material and I feel that this is the perfect platform to introduce it.”
The latest edition of the big party will see an inclusion of a seventh stage for the very first time, with over 60 artists keeping the massive crowd on their feet.
International acts will include Yoruba Records’ Osunlade and Lars Behrenroth.
“There’s nothing like playing for South African crowds,” said Behrenroth.
“It won’t be my first time playing for a South African crowd and the last time I did, it was out of this world.”
The Fiesta’s attendees, according to the event’s stats, show 79 per cent hailing from Gauteng, 19 per cent from outside of Gauteng and two per cent from across the country’s borders.
A crowd of 13 000 people is expected this year.
Gates open from noon.
