According to new unconfirmed reports, the person who discovered the coffin apparently saw someone with the coffin in the area a day before he reported the matter to the police.
According to a reliable source, the person who reported the matter to the police asked the man with the coffin as to what he was doing with it on a privately owned-property.
The answer was that he was performing rituals.
The police were alerted when the coffin was found dumped near the dam.
Boksburg SAPS spokesperson, Lieut Kwendzakwakhe Ngobese would neither deny nor confirm the new information.
“It’s still unclear whose coffin it is and where it came from. Our detectives are investigating a case of malicious damage to property.”
It was initially reported that a passerby got the fright of his life when he stumbled across the coffin.
