‘Nothing amiss’ as EMPD officers play pool during work hours
A concerned resident took a picture of four EMPD cars after spotting them parked outside a pub in Parkdene, during work hours, at around 4.30pm, on July 16.
The resident said that, upon taking a closer look, he noticed the officers clad in uniform “playing pool and hanging out”.
EMPD spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng said there was nothing amiss regarding the officers’ actions.
“The National Inter-Metro Games are around the corner and all sporting codes are in preparation for these games, hosted by the Durban Metro Police Department and scheduled for August 29 to September 5.
“Our snooker/pool team practises every Thursday, between 12.30pm and 5pm, at Mc Laren’s Pub,” said Mokheseng.
