Golfers get into the swing to support Lions’ charities

The Boksburg Lions Club held its annual, highly successful Charity Golf Day recently.

Golfers and businessmen from Ekurhuleni and surrounding cities came in their numbers to support the worthy cause by either entering a team of four people or sponsoring the event.

In total, 79 golfers took part in the competition, and each team paid a R1 000 entry fee.

All proceeds will be used to fund the club’s projects in the community.

There were prizes for best members of the different teams and others for nearest the pin.

The winners are:

First: Gareth Albarough and Stuart Little; Second: John and Danny; Third: Nevelle and Duncan.

Nearest to the pin 14th: Ian Holness.

Nearest to the pin fifth: Lian Esterhuizen.

The Boksburg Lions Club consists of a group of people dedicated to helping the residents of Boksburg and those in the areas surrounding the town.

With the support of the local community, they have been able to raise many thousands of Rand to help local people and various charities. Members meet once a month to consider various requests for help and then decide how to raise the required funds.
