Police seize large quantity of alcohol

Officers from the Boksburg SAPS seized large amount of alcohol from a pub in Dunswart on Sunday, May 24.

These include dozens of bottles and cans of beer, cider, whisky, brandy and spirits.

Police patrolling the area became suspicious after noticing a large number of people frequenting the establishment.

Upon investigation they discovered that the owner was trading without a valid license. The business operator allegedly attempted to bribe the officers with R200.

However, the no-nonsense police officers seized all alcohol found on the premises and charged the owner with dealing in liquor without a valid license as well as bribery.

The haul of alcohol was taken to the Boksburg police station, where it will eventually be poured down the drain.
