‘Drunk’ driver arrested for striking down Colgate runner
The driver who knocked down a 41-year-old woman runner during the Colgate Road Race on Sunday, May 3, will face the music of the law.
The EMPD’s Thabiso Makgato said the driver tried to flee after knocking down the woman but was pushed off the road by the members of public.
“He was tested and found to be drunk. He was then arrested by the EMPD. ”
A case of drunk and driving, reckless and negligent and trying to flee the accident scene has been opened against the driver.
