Case of murder investigated in Freeway Park CPF shooting

Members of the Freeway Park CPF have allegedly gunned down a fleeing suspected burglar and apprehended one of his accomplices, following a high speed car chase.

According to the Boksburg SAPS spokesperson, Lieut Kwendzakwakhe Ngobese, the chase began in the Freeway Park area, which falls under Elspark SAPS policing precinct.

Prior to the chase, the deceased, along with about three accomplices, allegedly broke into a house.

The CPF members then chased the suspects who were driving a greyish Nissan sedan.
“During the high speed chase, the alleged thugs apparently got lost and drove into a cul-de-sac in the suburb.
“While being followed by the CPF, they (the suspects) came to a sudden stop after driving into the dead end.
“The suspects then noticed a small passage and tried to drive through.
“They got trapped again and then decided to drive towards a nearby house, where their vehicle crashed into a palisade fence,” said Ngobese.
The suspects jumped out of the car and tried to flee on foot, but the CPF allegedly opened fire on them, leaving one dead.
A second suspect was apprehended but the others managed to flee.
The arrested suspect was taken into police custody.
Police are investigating a case of murder and burglary.
