Businessman with ties to Boksburg reportedly arrested

According to certain media reports, a prominent businessman who has ties to Boksburg has been allegedly arrested over the weekend on suspicion of murder.

However, the Advertiser is still trying to establish whether the reports are factual.

According to a Western Cape police spokesperson, Lieut Col Andre Traut, a 24-year-old man was shot at a petrol filling station in Orange Street, Cape Town, apparently after an argument between the victim and the accused, on Saturday afternoon, January 24.

“A 48-year-old man was arrested and is being detained for murder. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under police investigation,” explains Traut.

The accused is due to appear in a Cape Town court today.
