Operation of taxis in Windmill Park put on hold

The operation of taxis in Windmill Park have come to a halt following the taxi shooting incident, which claimed five lives on November 20.

According to the PRO for the Reiger Park Taxi Association, Mike Sultan, it is unsafe to go back on the road.

“At the moment, we are not operating. Some of the drivers, who have already not been working for some time, now suffer even more financially,” says Sultan.

“Some of the drives are definitely scared to go back on the road.

“We are waiting for the government to give us the go ahead to continue operations. We were told they are giving us 14 days because right now it is not safe for the guys to drive again. In the meantime, we are losing a lot of money.” -@NalediBoksburg
