Boksburg North SAPS has eight vehicles nonoperational – DA

Eight of the Boksburg North SAPS's vehicles have been nonoperational for 36 days, according to DA MP, Michael Waters.

“Vehicles are essential in order for the police to conduct their daily duties, and the workshop should be servicing and repairing them speedily. The lack of vehicles affects the police’s ability to respond to crimes and to conduct investigations into crimes.”

“It is unacceptable that marking of a SAPS vehicle, for example, has so far taken 95 days and repairs to a vehicle 65 days, when the private sector could do it much quicker.”

Lieut Juanita Coetzer says that Boksburg North SAPS has vehicles to deliver a sufficient service delivery.

“There is a problem with the SAPS suppliers regarding the fixing and repairing of vehicles. Currently our vehicles are outsourced to dealers for repairing, and that is why the process takes longer than usual. We did receive our vehicles back.

“Service delivery were not hampered, and the vehicles still achieved their reaction time to complaints, that are stipulated in the Regulations.” – @NalediBoksburg
