Students grapple with a tongue-twisting ‘spell’

Reiger Park Secondary School held the final stage of its Spelling Bee competition on Saturday, November 8.

Learners from the school initially showed off their spelling skills during the first leg of the competition on Thursday, August 14, as they competed for a spot in the finals.

An initiative by Malony Kaiser from Reiger Park, the six-hour spelling extravaganza finals were held at Reiger Park Secondary.

Dozens of students eagerly tried to spell their way to glory, showcased outstanding spelling skills in the hopes of winning family holiday prizes.

Hopeful Grade 8, 10 and 11 candidates were systematically eliminated during the day as they battled the ever-increasing difficult words to master.

After a gruelling challenge, Bradley Peters from Reiger Park Secondary, emerged the school champion.
