Cable thief sustains serious burn wounds

According to the Boksburg North SAPS communications officer, Lieut Juanita Coetzer, the man who got electrocuted while trying to steal electricity cables,  was immediately taken from the scene to the Tambo Memorial Hospital.

The suspect was allegedly stealing power box cables when it exploded in 10th Avenue, Ravenswood, on Thursday afternoon, November 6.

Coetzer says that the suspect sustained serious injuries.

“Due to the severity of his burn wounds, he won’t be discharged soon.”

Due to this incident, it also appears certain areas in Boksburg North was without power, allegedly due to the cable theft, until the the early hours of Friday morning, November 7.
