Perjurer receives suspended sentence

The woman, who falsely opened a case of business robbery on August 25, received a suspended sentence.

On October 21, Ayanda Khanuelyiwa appeared in the Boksburg Magistrates Court where she was sentenced to R4 000 or six months imprisonment, wholly-suspended for five years.

On August 25, she said that she was robbed at a liquor store in Main Reef Road.

She claimed that one man walked into the store after it opened, pointed a firearm at her and instructed her to hand over the safe keys and that another three men then entered the store.

She said that they took R120 000 and alcohol, and loaded it into a white van with unknown registration number. The value of everything claimed to be lost was R180 000. – @CarmenBoksburg
