Ekurhuleni bus speeds with Parkdene Primary pupils

An Ekurhuleni bus was allegedly spotted speeding while transporting Parkdene Primary School pupils at 7.15am on Wednesday, September 3.

The witness alleges that the bus driver drove erratically, and apparently did not use indicators, driving at a speed in excess of 120km down Bigwood Avenue (speed limit 60km), while pupils were standing in the bus.

The witness took a picture of the bus license plate.

Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) spokesperson Wilfred Kgasago says a traffic law was allegedly contravened, and the EMPD will locate the driver using the registration number provided.

“A report of the claims made will be submitted with the supervisor of the department concerned, and in the interim, once the driver is located and identified, his conduct on that route will be monitored,” explains Kgasago.

Kgasago says that a letter without prejudice will be forwarded to the driver via his supervisor on the allegations made. – @TumeloBoksburg
