SAPS issue warning to truck companies

It has come to the attention of Boksburg North SAPS that criminals are prying on truck drivers.

According to Lieut Juanita Coetzer, communications officer for the Boksburg North SAPS, they draw the attention of the truck driver to make him stop.

“If they cannot get the driver to voluntarily stop, to hijack the truck with the load, they will then throw dangerous items in the road.

“Trucking companies are urged to inform and educate their drivers to take note of these incidents.

“It is advised that when these incidents happen, they must keep on driving to the nearest garage or police station,” she says.

On a separate note, Coetzer says that it is very important for the community to note that no unmarked police vehicle is allowed to have a siren or blue light.

“All of the detectives have unmarked vehicles, so they do not have blue lights.” – @CarmenBoksburg
