Taxi driver, assistant convicted of robbery and rape

A taxi driver and his assistant were convicted in the Boksburg Magistrates Court, on charges of aggravated robbery, rape and sexual assault.

Soloman Mokgoko (25) and Lucky Nkaneso (25) pleaded not guilty on April 23, were found guilty on August 12 and sentenced on August 26 to life imprisonment.

On October 12, 2013, the men robbed, raped and sexually assaulted four women they were transporting in their taxi.

The men used a firearm to rob the women of their cellphones, handbags and money.

Mokogoko has a previous conviction of theft.
