Health CFO suspended
The Gauteng Department of Health has suspended its chief financial officer (CFO), Ndoda Biyela, pending an internal investigation.
According to Prince Hamnca, spokesperson for the department, Biyela was suspended following allegations of irregularities relating to procurement processes in the department.
“An investigation is underway to test the veracity of the allegations,”says Hamnca.
“Biyela is suspended with full pay pending the outcome of this process.”
He adds that George Mahlangu, CFO at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, has been appointed to act in Biyela’s position. – @CarmenBoksburg
