Youngsters sought to become Rotarians

The world will be a much poorer place were it not for Rotary.

This is according to Derek Fox, president of Boksburg Lake Rotary, who says August is membership month in Rotary.

“I would say all the local Rotary clubs are looking for more Rotarians. At the moment Rotary in general is suffering in terms of its low numbers.

“We definitely do not have enough younger members.”

Rotary is an international non-profit organisation where community members come together to create positive, lasting change in their cities and around the world.

This service organisation seeks to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.

It is a secular organisation open to all persons regardless of race, colour, creed, religion, gender or political preference.

There is roughly almost 34 000 clubs around the world with a membership of over 1.2-million.
