Six scrapyard metal pinchers nabbed

Members of the EMPD arrested six men, who have been on the run for several days, in Vosloorus, on August 1.

According to Supt Wilfred Kgasago, spokesperson for the EMPD, the six suspects were wanted for breaking into a scrapyard and stealing car batteries and steel rods.

He says that this success came about as the result of a tip-off from the members of the community of Somalia.

“All the six suspects were caught in their respective shacks with a total of 10 vehicle batteries and 20kg of steel rods collectively found in their possession,” says Kgasago.

The suspects, whose ages range between 22 and 36, were charged with possession of suspected stolen property at Dawn Park police station.

They are expected to appear in the Vosloorus Magistrate’s Court soon. – @CarmenBoksburg
